The early 80’s

Following a revamp in the early 80’s the XJS got wood, but still not on the center console and although at first that may seem a shame. There is something very classic about these earlier interiors…

The Mid 80’s

In the mid eighties with the introduction of the 6 cylinder cars the interior was updated again. Now with a wooden center console often referred to as the “ski slope”. A half leather interior was standard on 6 cylinder cars. Proving quite unpopular with the majority of customers specifying full leather… You’ll notice also the steering wheel was revised during this time.

The Facelift

In 1991 the XJS received a facelift. This included a new more traditional dial arrangement as opposed to the quirky barrells of old. The seats were slightly revised (no piping) and once again a new steering wheel. All facelift cars now had electric seats…

The Later Facelift

This is the layout on a late facelift car, although not too much has changed. Those subtle changes over the life span of the car have added up to a much more modern look….
